Meet Courtney and Brittany!
We're a couple of sisters only two years apart, but we're so close that we seem like twins! (Many people ask if we're twins all the time) When we were young, our parents got us involved in a wide range of activities in order for us to find our passions and interests. After dabbling in soccer, softball, swimming, ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, volleyball, basketball, piano, violin, flute, and karate (I'm probably missing some) we stuck with volleyball, basketball, and soccer. Looking back on it, we both wish we continued with ballet because dancers are so graceful and limber!
Growing up, we used to live close to our grandmas' houses and would spend a lot of time with them. One of our favorite past times was cooking and baking! Our paternal grandma loved (and still does!) trying new recipes, and would ask for our help whenever she found a recipe in the newspaper or Sunset Magazine. We have a picture of us in our little aprons covered in flour wearing her reading glasses that I wish I could post, but unfortunately we don't have a scanner anymore.. ):
In middle school and high school, my sister and I would bake treats for the holidays and pass them out to our friends in cute, little gift bags. We always got great responses to whatever we baked, which encouraged us to continue baking.
With the increasing passion for cooking and baking also came an increased interest in health and fitness. When we were younger, running was one of the last things we would have liked to do in our free time, but now, it's one of our favorite exercises! Running a 5K, 10K, and a half marathon are all on my (Courtney) bucket list, or list of things to do before I'm 25. We'll see how that goes. Anyway, knowing that diet and exercise go hand in hand, we try eating whole and healthy foods and engaging in some type of exercise daily. Giving our bodies good fuel to maintain body processes is the name of the game!
Well, writing definitely isn't my best subject, so I'm sorry for the randomness, but basically, since we like trying new recipes, we thought a blog would be a cool place for us to keep track of everything we've made. It's also a great place to send and share ideas!
Thanks for stopping by!
