Post Workout Snack

The snack/meal after the workout is one of the most important meals!

It's best to have some form of both carbs and protein to replenish the energy stores and help with muscle recovery. If you just finished an intense workout, you'll want to have a combination of the two macronutrients to help you!

Today, I chose a Chocolate Pumpkin Spice Pumpkin Oatmeal

Yeah I know, more pumpkin..

But hey! It's low in calories, adds great texture and flavor, and is an EXCELLENT source of beta-carotene (:

It goes a little something like this:

1/4 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup pure pumpkin
1 packet diet hot chocolate (Swiss miss)
1/4-1/2 tsp pumpkin spice
1-2 Tbsp water or liquid of choice (almond milk, regular milk, etc)

Place all ingredients in a microwave safe bowl and in it goes into the microwave for 1-2 minutes, or depending on how you like your oatmeal.

This snack isn't too sweet, but if you'd prefer it that way, then add a squeeze of agave syrup, stevia/ sweetener packet of choice.

Enjoy!
