As I've mentioned before, after your workout, you want a mix of both carbs and protein to replenish your depleted stores.
A sandwich, such as the one I just ate (yum!), will do just the trick if constructed with healthful and fresh ingredients. Plus, your stomach (and body) will thank you for the flavor train you hopped aboard!
Ingredients:
1 whole grain sandwich thin
1-1 1/2 cups fresh spinach
3-5 egg whites
avocado
1/3 wedge Laughing Cow Mozzarella Sun Dried Tomato and Basil Cheese
Spray the saute pan with nonstick spray, and cook the spinach until it's wilted.
Add the egg whites and scramble them together.
While the spinach and eggs are cooking, toast the sandwich then.
To assemble, spread some avocado on one of the toasted thins and spread the cheese on the other.
Then place the scrambled spinach and eggs on top!
