Kabuki

Do you like eating raw food?

I know I love my raw fruits and veggies! And now I LOVE raw fish! Sashimi/ sushi grade, that is.

Growing up, I didn't like fish very much. My grandma had (and still has) a rule that we must try at least a bite of a food/ dish that we've never had before, because who knows? You might be surprised if you like it, even if it doesn't look or sound good. (Don't judge a book by its cover?)

Well, she would always make Brittany and I try the salmon, halibut, and crab she made, but we couldn't get past the fishy smell or taste of those dishes..

It wasn't until my freshman year of college that I really started enjoying sushi and raw fish!

I started off with the rolls, (more rice to mask the taste... hehe), crunchy, fried fish to be exact.

Then I started being adventurous! Yellowtail, salmon, tuna, shrimp, and more!

I couldn't get enough! The soft texture, and the melt in your mouth pieces...

Yum!

Over Christmas break, my best friend took me to Kabuki for dinner.

The sushi chefs take their time, and the plating designs are neat!

I got a specialty roll, and the pieces were quite large. These two plates were enough for us to share; so much rice to fill us up!

Don't worry, if you don't like fish, they serve chicken and other japanese dishes.

BUT I highly suggest the sushi! It's on the pricey side, but the fish is fresh (:
