Fuel the System

Have you provided your body with enough fuel to get you through the day?

Instead of looking at food (healthy food!) as a treat or as your enemy, think about it as a way to fuel your body systems so that you can go about your day with sufficient energy!

If you don't put enough gas in your car, you'll only be able to go as far as the amount of gas you filled your car with. Same goes for us! If you don't give your body enough food, then your body has to find other ways (potentially harmful) to supply the energy you need to get through your day.

Here's another one of my post workout sandwiches. It's super yummy, healthy, and satisfying.

Ingredients:
1 cup baby spinach
1/4 cup egg whites
2 oz smoked salmon (lox)
1/5 avocado
1 whole grain sandwich slim

Spray the saute pan with nonstick spray, and cook the spinach until it's wilted.

Add the egg whites and salmon and scramble them together.

While the spinach, salmon, and eggs are cooking, toast the sandwich then.

To assemble, spread some avocado on both of the toasted thins.

Then place the scrambled spinach, salmon, and eggs on top!
