Still Going Bananas

At our home, we go through bananas like crazy, except for this past week. Since bananas have a short shelf life, Britt and I were frantically trying to find recipes so that we could use them up!

So how about some banana chips? Yum!

Banana Chips:
Bananas (however many you'd like to use)
Lemon Juice

Pre-heat the oven to 250 degrees F.

Brittany sliced the bananas about 1/5" - 1/4" thick and placed them on a greased baking sheet. (They shrink and shrivel up in the oven when dried)

****make sure to spray the baking sheet well, otherwise you'll have to spend the rest of your day/night using a hammer and chisel to scrape the remnants off the pan. boo.****

Coat each slice with a dab of lemon juice using a basting brush.

Place in the oven for about 1-2 hours depending on how crispy you like your chips.

The final product! They were still a bit soft when we pulled them out of the oven, but I bet they would crisp and shrivel up more if you left them in for longer.

Unfortunately, we still had to use a little elbow grease to clean the baking sheet because of the natural caramelized sugar crusted on the pan. It didn't take too long though..

And then we had delicious, homemade banana chips!

Enjoy!
