My sister and I absolutely LOVE apples! There's a little mom and pop produce market near where we live that sells the largest, most delicious Fuji Apples. Sometimes, we'd eat 2 or 3.. or even 4. But who's counting?
Lydia, my lovely roommate, bought a bag of these apple chips, which are to die for. Costco sells them in large bags, but unfortunately, those don't last very long around my house. All the more reason for us to make our own!
Recipe (if you could even call it that it's so easy):
2 Fuji apples (any type of apples work) we also used pears
1 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
Lemon Juice
Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F.
Slice the apples and pears into 1/8 inch slices with a sharp knife, or use a food processor (super quick!)
Then line the slices onto a greased baking sheet.
Use a basting brush to lightly coat the slices of fruit with lemon juice.
Sprinkle the fruit with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Then place the soon to be chips into the oven for about 1-2 hours, checking on them every so often to avoid burning.
And finally, after a long time coming, you have your very own apple chips!
How easy was that?! Too bad the heating process takes such a long time, because boy, those chips don't last long enough..
Time to make more!
